The FSE lost one of their cargo transports at the beginning of the battle. However, the vehicle was only immobilized, so the supplies themselves were not damaged. A quick decision by the FSE commanders had the APCs breaking out of the ambush to either side, to drop off the infantry squads and try to force the NI troops away from the convoy route. After brief discussions, the FSE officers realised that they could transfer the supplies to one of the APCs if necessary, though first the ambushers would have to be neutralized.
